Our Aims

  • We will give every child the chance to develop at their own level
  • We will give every child the chance to learn through play in a safe environment
  • We will encourage every child to put down firm foundations for learning through a keyworker system
  • We will provide the right equipment to encourage the above
  • We will be available to each child to help them feel special
  • We will be available to parents/carers during and outside of pre-school hours
  • We will welcome all parents/carers and try to encourage them to come and help (If you want to!)
  • We will invite visitors that help children's awareness (If anyone has any talents that would interest small children eg nurse, doctor, fireman, etc.. please share them!)
  • We will show children and their parents or carers that they are all precious and each one is valued

Our Curriculum

We have a flexible long term plan which sets out learning themes throughout the year. Our curriculum is based on seven areas of learning.  The three prime areas are:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development

These areas are those most essential for your child's healthy development and future learning.

As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas.

These are:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

These 7 areas are used to plan your child's learning and activities. Children are treated on an individual level and they can choose to follow the main themed activities or ask for other equipment or activities if they prefer.

More information is available from our Parent Pack - if you'd like a copy, please ask. Visitors are always welcome, so do come and see us.
