Our Ethos

Our experienced childcare team are passionate about offering quality care and education in a safe, fun and stimulating environment where all our children are recognised as being unique and individual. This means that:

  • We give every child the chance to develop at their own level.

  • We give every child the chance to learn through play in a safe environment.

  • We encourage every child to put down firm foundations for learning through a keyworker system.

  • We provide the right equipment to encourage the above.

  • We are available to each child to help them feel special.

  • We are available to parents/carers during and outside of pre-school hours.

  • We welcome all parents/carers and try to encourage them to come and help (If you want to!).

  • We invite visitors that help children's awareness (If anyone has any talents that would interest small children eg nurse, doctor, fireman, etc., please share them!)

  • We will show children and their parents or carers that they are all precious and each one is valued

“We believe Playbox offers a unique opportunity for your child's future with our distinctive curriculum, passionate staff and proven track record.”

— Ginette Beeson (Playbox Leader)

Our Curriculum

Our children are treated on an individual level and are given the time to build their skills in order to become independent, confident and resilient.

We have a flexible long term plan with our curriculum being based on the seven areas of learning which aim to prepare our children for their transition to nursery and, longer term, school.

We focus on the three core areas of the EYFS: personal, social and emotional development, communication and language, and physical development. These areas are those most essential for your child's healthy development and future learning.

We believe that once our children feel comfortable and we get to know them, we can plan from what we learn from our observations and the child’s personal interests and likes.

We continually monitor children’s progress and adapt plans following the specific areas of EYFS: literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design.

Each child has a keyworker who will help them settle in and then follow their progress in line with our curriculum.

We’re part of Zeo
